Community Development Block Grants (CDBG)
In general, the HUD Programs works with a number of county departments, municipalities, nonprofits, and other groups working to address the needs of Clayton County’s low – and –moderate income residents in the areas mentioned above. The County’s CDBG funding assists communities in addressing a wide range of needs which include:
- Providing decent housing and suitable living environments;
- Developing solutions to expand economic opportunities;
- Addressing slum and blight removal throughout the County;
- Completing public infrastructure and public facilities improvements in low- and moderate-income eligible areas within the County;
- Administering the County’s Essential Home Repair Program, for seniors, veterans and disabled persons
- Supporting a number of public service activities including but not limited to senior services, youth programs, and other housing counseling programs.
